Our Ethical Swarm Relocation Training offers a better way. This hands-on programme equips participants with the knowledge and confidence to safely identify, manage, and relocate honeybee swarms without harming these vital pollinators. Rooted in the principle that bees are essential allies in ecosystem health not pests to be eliminated, the course covers swarm behaviour, safe capture techniques, and humane relocation protocols suited to arid, urban environments. Participants leave equipped to respond to swarm incidents responsibly, protecting both public safety and pollinator populations that our ecosystems depend on.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Recognise honeybee swarm behaviour and distinguish it from aggressive or defensive activity
Assess swarm risk levels and respond safely without resorting to extermination
Apply safe, low-stress capture techniques for relocating swarms
Select and prepare appropriate relocation sites and equipment
Follow humane handling and transport protocols to protect swarm survival
Understand the ecological importance of honeybees and their role in pollination
Communicate effectively with the public during swarm incidents to reduce fear and prevent harm
