This year marks the 11th anniversary of the City Nature Challenge! Hundreds of cities & thousands of participants observe millions of species in what is now the world’s largest Community Science event.
The City Nature Challenge Dubai is a four-day initiative taking place from 24–27 April 2026, inviting people to observe and document the plants and animals around them. Whether in their backyard, parks, neighbourhoods, or along the coastline, participants simply take a photo and upload it using the iNaturalist app.
No experience is needed, just curiosity. Each observation contributes to a shared dataset that helps researchers better understand urban biodiversity, while offering a simple way to spend time outdoors and notice more of the environment around us.
